Noon Start Schedule for Todays Races!!
Oct 2, 2010 - CFS wishes to inform fans and competitors that today's schedule of events has been delayed and will start at noon.  Forecasts show clear skies from approximately 11am today,  for the remainder of the weekend.  Pit gates and tech will open as per the original schedule (7:30 am).   Over 40 cars attended last nights practice session including more than 20 sportsman and several Pros.  For the complete revised schedule for Saturday please go to www.centreforspeed.com

UPDATE on Atlantic Stock Car Championships weekend at CFS - Now 160 drivers
As of Friday afternoon (3:30 p.m), all scheduled racing events on Saturday and Sunday as part of the Atlantic Stock Car Championships at the Centre for Speed (CFS) in Grand Barachois, N.B. are a GO!.
The current weather forecast indicates that if it does rain or sprinkle in the Shediac / Grand Barachois area, it should not last past 10 a.m. on Saturday morning  Therefore, the worst case scenario is that Saturday's drivers practices would start at 10a.m. and by noon or early afternoon, thanks to the warmer than normal weather, CFS will be running the planned event on Saturday!
Please note that tonight's (Friday) drivers practice may be rained out.  At present, it is difficult to accurately pinpoint the weather as the forecast is calling for "isolated showers" which could mean we get some rain at CFS or none at all. Right now, the practice session is a GO, but it might have to be cancelled and details to that effect will be available from the CFS info line at (506) 532-3032.

Mackintosh To Make Allison Legacy Car Debut At OCS
Chris Woods Racing announced yesterday that Ryan Mackintosh would be making his first start in an Allison Legacy Car at Orange County Speedway on October 9th.
"We would like to run 2 or 3 Legacy races this year to get Ryan's feet wet before moving full-time to the series next season", stated team co-owner Chris Woody Woods. "Ryan is familar with the 3/8 mile Orange County and it seems like a good place to start."
The team's #03 entry still requires some work and testing before the Saturday start in two weeks but Woods in confident they will be ready. "We want to get Ryan some laps, we are not looking to try to run up front, we just want to get some laps",commented Woods in a phone interview from Kannapolis.Canadian driver, Ryan Mackintosh, just completed the INEX points season in the #03 Scoita Hyundai Bandolero and will be running some selected events in that car this coming Fall and Winter. When Mackintosh was asked about the upcoming Legacy race,"I can't wait to run this car, I have so much to learn but it will be fun working with Woody and figuring it all out."
Mackintosh will not be racing this upcoming weekend but will attending the Virginia Is For Race Lovers 300 in Martinsville Virginia. Mackintosh will be there to support Daniel Hemric, whom he lives with in Kannapolis, and to enjoy a weekend off with his Chris Woods Racing team.

From Tim Wile of Centre for Speed:
Rumour of Speedway Sale
I would like to clarify the status of the Speed Weeks events as a result of a rumour about the CENTRE. An offer has been received from people who we know and trust to forward racing at the venue in years to come. The offer or any sale WILL NOT affect the Atlantic Speed Weeks events which are a GO for this Oct. Any transaction of ownership will not take place until spring 2011. Oct's events are a GO. See you at the CENTRE.

Riverside Speedway Management is keeping a close eye on the weather for Friday right now it is calling for heavy rain well into the evening. It still could change so we will see what Environment Canada is telling us in the morning. We will review it at 10am So please try to sit tight until then that will give those that drive in 3 Hours to get here.
I am not a big fan of bringing team in to wait around only to have to send them home. Knowing the cost of fuel. Trust everyone will live with whatever call we make in the morning.
Thanks for all the teams that supports us each and every event.

from Glyn Nott
We had fun driving the AOW cars this weekend. Spud Speedway treated us like gold and I look forward to going back. Brian finished third in his heat and 7th in the Consi but had bad luck when he ran over the 48 car and end his day early in the feature. He was running in the second position when the accident occurred. I finished 4th in both the heat and consi. In the feature I battled for the lead with Sparkie Raeburn for a few laps on the outside and managed to get the lead for about 18 laps. After a little altercation between Sparkie and I, we where put to the back and managed to get back to third. It was a lot of fun to drive one on these cars and look forward to another chance next year.

CAPITAL CITY CHAMP WINDSOR TO TACKLE RIVERSIDE SPEEDWAY
For the second time in this season, Ontario Legends hot shoe Chad Windsor is headed to Nova Scotia. Windsor, who hails from Ottawa will drive in the Maritime League of Legends 50 lap main feature this Friday night at Riverside International Speedway in James River, Nova Scotia in a MacLean Motorsports prepared racecar.                 Windsor’s racing stock has risen by leaps and bounds in the 2010 season. The 23-year old driver crossed the line first in the Maritime Legends Challenge in July at the high banked 1/3-mile oval in the #5 MacLean Motorsports car. Following his first visit to the Maritimes, he returned to his home track at Capital City Speedway to win the track championship in the Legends division! With all his victories and accomplishments piling up, Windsor may have to build a new trophy shelf after the September 17th event at Riverside.
Windsor can not wait for the opportunity to return to Riverside and prove to the Atlantic Canadian fans that he is the real deal. “The win in July was unexpected,” said Windsor on Monday night. “My main goal is to get the MacLean Motorsports car back to the front for another victory and prove it wasn't just luck that got the win earlier this year. With Bruce Johnson as my teammate and the awesome cars prepared by Scott (team owner), I believe we have a great shot at the win.”
Scott MacLean is excited to have the Ottawa native back in Nova Scotia to race. “Chad is a racer and he proved that back in July,” said MacLean. “This is a perfect opportunity to prove once again why MacLean Motorsports is number one in parts, setup and chassis work not only in this region but across North America.”
The car that Windsor will drive will be familiar to him. He will pilot the same #5 car he drove back in July and will be sponsored by MacLean Motorsports, Lucas Oil and Greg Spicer Construction. ’08 Maritime League of Legends Tour and Scotia Speedworld track champion Ian Mollins of Moncton, New Brunswick shook down the car last weekend at the Speedworld apart of their finale weekend.
The Maritime League of Legends event is apart of the Komatsu 300 weekend for the NASCAR Canadian Tire Series. The cross-Canada touring division is set to go green with their 300-lap event on Saturday, September 18th at 4:30pm with the Sportsman 100 and Legends 50 taking center stage on Friday, September 17th at 7pm. For more information on the event, visit
RiversideSpeedway.ca or call their box office at (902) 863-2410.
At MacLean Motorsports we pride ourselves on providing race teams with quality cars and parts to get them through season after season. With many race and championship wins under our belt, teams from all over North America can agree that MacLean Motorsports will help you get to the finish line first. Visit us on the web at

2nd Place At Concord for Ryan Macintosh at Concord
The #03 Scotia Hyundai Bandolero started P2 in the feature last night at Concord Speedway in NC. Mackintosh swapped the lead several times with the #4 car of John Holleman of Winston-Salem. The two drivers put on a great show for 10 laps before the #03 tightened up and allowed the #4 to open up a two car length lead which he held to the finish.
"It was a great race. We were side by side for three or four laps", commented the Amherst, NS driver from his team hauler after the race.
Mackintosh will have no time to rest as the team is back at it tonight for the last time at Concord and tomorrow at OCR near Raleigh-Durham.

Weekly Racing Series Finale Postponed
Heavy rain at Scotia Speedworld has postponed the weekly racing series season finale until Sunday afternoon. The pit gates will open at 9:30 a.m. and racing will start at 1 p.m.

The General Robert E Lee will be piloting the 61 AOW Machine at Spud Speedway this weekend. They gotta thank Keswick Kitchen for all the parts and Lincoln Auto for the shop. Lee is Rickey’s crew chief, he has a whack of experience at Spud Speedway. He raced in Geary has won lots of races at a lot of tracks. He’s the son of Ken Lee. They both have a wicked fan base at Spud. They’re gonna be happy to see him there.

Brian Fox and Glyn Nott are going to be racing a couple of AOW cars this weekend at Spud Speedway in Caribou Maine. They are looking forward to going to a new track and being able to say that they ran a race in the "States". Racing starts a 6:00 local time. They would like to thank Graeme Brown and Dale Young for letting them drive their cars for them.

Oyster Bed Speedway - Third Triple Crown - This Saturday night brings us our third and final race in the Triple Crown Series Modified Division with a 50 lap feature. Although it looks as though Dylan Gosbee/Kent Livingston have the number 1 spot all tied up, second to sixth are only separated by 19 points. This promises to be a very exciting finish to an already exciting year in this division. As well Saturday night brings us to the points finally in all other divisions as well. Street stock, mini outlaw and mini stock are all running as well. Should be an exiting finish to the second last race of the season. Of coarse all the buzz is about our Atlantic Invitational Showdown on September 25. The list of cars for this day is growing every day.
Hope to see you there this Saturday Night at 7pm.
PLEASE NOTE: AS THIS IS THE FINAL POINTS MEET, WE WILL HAVE A RAIN DATE OF SUNDAY SEPTEMBER 12 AT 2 PM.

Speedweekend 2010 Short Shots:
Monday 11:00pm
Wow. we are home, finally. Myles Harris won the O’Leary 150 and Jamie Brown captured the AOW feature

All details etc will be published in the morning, as sleep is now the main plan. We do want to thank Mike Stevens, his father, and the rest of the guys with the 26 Pro Stock. They were tremendous all weekend and were a big help to us during the attack of Hurricane Earl. Thank you very much for everything !!!

Sunday 10:30 am
Wow !! what a difference a day makes. Earl was playing possum yesterday and shortly after I posted, Earl let go with a vengeance. As a result, the Saturday schedule of events will be run on Monday with a start time of 1PM. The Sunday show will go as planned. Cars are on the track now in the midst of a practice session.

Johnny Clark wins “Auto Value 250

Saturday 11.30 am
Things are still in a holding pattern at present.  Earl has given us some rain but the high winds etc. have not happened. Management is still hopeful that things will get underway shortly.

HURRICANE earl has won the battle for today. After acting like a wimp all night and most of the morning, he hit with a vengeance around 10:30 and by 2pm this afternoon, the place resembles a swamp. The rains are over and the clean up is underway. Hopefully the Pro Stock cars will be able to be teched tonight.

Friday:
 - Ran into Mike Powers tonight. Mike, as many of you might recall, was a top running Sportsman at River Glade and Centre for Speed and winner of the last two Internationals. after taking a year off, Mike informed me that he is returning next year, but in aq PRO STOCK. Mike plans to run the full sweason at Speedway 660 along with a few selected extended distances. mike was coy about what car he is going to run but promised to give me the full scoop when the time is right. welcome back Mike !!!

 - Joe Hoyt, president and competitor on the AOW Modified Tour was in attendance with a fistful of corn at the Cornboil Friday night. Joe will be running his AOW on Saturday while Jim Duke will be at the controls of his Sportsman machine. Duke is a former front runner on the Sportsman scene and the originator of the AOW some eight years or so ago. Expect Jim to be a force to contend with on Saturday.

 - This just in. If the races are rained out tomorrow by Hurricane Earl, they will be run on Monday. The Sunday schedule of events will remain unchanged.

 - Recent Pro Stock Tour winner, Mike Stevens, was in attendance Friday and is still basking in the glow of his first ever event victory on the Tour. “It’s been a long time coming” Stevens said.

 - Ken MacKenzie, the long time veteran competitor in the Sportsman ranks, who was crowned champion of the Sportsman division at Speedway 660 one short week ago, was floating around talking it up with fans and fellow drivers. Ken is thrilled to have climbed back to the pinacle of his division and has tons of praise for all the fellow Sportsman drivers and track management.

 - Glyn Nott and the Nott racing team were at their usual Speedweekend spot on Friday night as they handle all the cooking and serving at the Corn Boil. The corn was sweeter than ever and the Nott’s outdid themselves again.

 - Richard Atkinson was also prowling the corn boil scene with his lovely wife Heather by his side.  Richard is one of the hard workers in racing, and last week pulled off an impressive second place finish in the Sportsman feature. Richard will be looking for more of the same come race time tomorrow evening.

 - Last week’s winner of the Sportsman feature, his first feature ever at Speedway 660, Robbie Fraser, is also set to go and rearing to give the big guns all they can handle come Saturday evening.

 - - Just for the record, by nine pm Friday, Hurricane Earl was supposed to dumping on us here at the track. It’s now 9:45 pm and no sign of anything yet. The temperature is warm and sultry and there is a huge crowd settled in with campers, tents, trailers, and motor homes of all description. I haven’t seen any numbers yet, but the facility is packed. This could well be the biggest year yet. Everyone is in a Festive mood.
