This reporter met up with NASCAR legend Kenny Schrader at Scotia Speedworld where he was entered into the C&R Auto Supply Sportsman 50. Like many other drivers, he followed in his dad’s footsteps. “My daddy always did it and I grew up around racing and that’s all I ever wanted to do.”
Schrader continued, in regard to his Scotia Speedworld visit. “ I don’t run much pavement. I run mainly dirt. Neat little race track. What I like most and am impressed about, is just how clean and neat everything is. When we went out to do “hot laps”, they were running two wide and everything. It was fun.”
Schrader was piloting the new Sportsman of Mike Alexander’s. “ I only had one session so far, and it felt good. I haven’t had a car like this in a number of years. It felt completely different but it felt pretty good.”
