Jessie

Jesse Thompson comes from Fredericton, New Brunswick and has been attending races his whole life. His parents were involved with Speedway 660 and it’s predecessor New Brunswick International Speedway since it first opened. “ I always loved Speedway 660 and I still do. The place is always in the back of my mind. Last year, in 2010, the Bandalero class started at Speedway 660 and the second week in, Wade, the race announcer, asked if I would do the announcing for the Bando class. That was very exciting.”

Jesse went on to say “I’m now the official announcer for the Atlantic Open Wheel Modifieds Tour. Joe Hoyt, the AOW president, approached me. I’ve done four races now and so far, things have been going well.”

Jesse, who may well be the youngest race announcer ever, and certainly the youngest at the moment, was asked what he hoped for the future. “I plan to be a trackside reporter for some race series, but who knows. So far the race at Spud speedway in Caribou Maine has the most fun. I really enjoyed it.”

Jesse concluded with the following comment. “I want to thank all my family and friends who support me while I’m doing this, and I’ve met a lot of new friends along the way.”
