		Ron Hornaday Jr.

	Ron Hornaday Jr., from North Carolina, grew up with a famous racing father and is following in his footsteps. Hornaday has won many championships beginning at his little third mile hometown track. “I won championships at Saugus, my hometown track. It’s a third mile. I’ve won two South West Tours and three NASCAR Craftsman Truck titles. I’m now second in points this year and it looks pretty good.” “This is my first trip to the Maritimes. there are a lot of good people here and that’s what racing is all about. The track is fun to drive. It’s a very unique track. It’s different than anything I’ve ever raced. It reminds me a little of Flemming or Louisville. It’s a driver’s track. That’s what I like about it.”

Driving a Lonnie Sommerville prepared car, Hornaday had this to say “Both Lonnie’s and my car are both set up the same and we’re going to try different things right up til race time. I have to thank Lonnie and those guys, they’ve done a great job of putting things together. We’re trying to make them better. We do have 250 laps . It’s lots of fun.”

When asked if he would come back, Hornaday quickly replied “If I don’t wreck Lonnie’s car too bad, sure I’d come back. This is awesome. This many cars coming up here. Other drivers like Johnny Benson and Terry Lebonte came, so I feel really privileged to be here. To race with the best here is lots of fun. That’s what racing is all about.”

At this point Hornaday excused himself to do some more testing.
