Last Friday night Scotia Speedworld held their second race card on the of the 201I guess I am finished. 0 season and what a card it was. The action was non stop, with enough of everything to keep hearts racing throughout. Little did anyone know that it would also be the only racing on tap all weekend. Mother Nature and the “RAINS” took care of the rest. Saturday morning, the Maritime Motorsports Hall of Fame held their annual “Petty Autofest” car show on the grounds of the Hall of Fame building. Over 60 cars were on display from antiques to “muscle” cars. Again, the rains came around noon, forcing proceedings inside where live music and an auction kept everyone entertained. This weekend, things will hopefully get back to normal, if Mother Nature sees fit to co-operate. This weekend, the “Monster” trucks invade Scotia Speedworld for shows on Friday night, Saturday, and Sunday with regular racing on the shelf for a week. They will return next week. Up Fredericton way, The American PASS series hits Speedway 660 with a storm. Over 15 of these high powered machines will race along with several of the Pro Stock Tour. Undercard action will be provided by the regular street Stock and Sportsman divisions. These divisions more often than not, steal the show as they are always exciting. Sunday the action shifts to Centre for Speed. The Centre closed last week due to poor car counts, in hopes that more car would be ready by this week. From all reports that I’m hearing, the strategy might just have worked as several new cars are now ready and have declared that they will be on hand this Sunday. In addition to the regular action, a big “figure 8” event is on the schedule as well. This event alone should be worth the price of admission as it creates some unique situations and heart pumping action. Since nothing worth mentioning happened last week, I guess I am done. Remember, Drive fast, Turn left, and keep the racing on the track, not on our streets. See ya in seven days. |
