do his times for him and record them after every practice so he will know how he did. I also do his stats at the different tracks.”
Being around racing so long, you would think she’d have been behind the wheel at least once. “ I’ll tell you a little story. When he was racing dirt track, there was a Powderpuff event, and I was going to take the car out. One of the sponsors’ wives came up and asked if she could drive it. Well, of course I let her take it and then said “she’s giving us money, let her take it.” Well, she didn’t do very well. In a couple of laps, she was lapped. Glyn said to me “Had I known she was going to do that, I’d have let you drive.” I looked at him and said “Really, never will I sit in your race car and drive, and I never did.”
The Nott children have grown up here at the race track but none are following in their father’s footsteps. “Much to Glyn’s chagrin, we thought one may follow in his footsteps, but that’s OK, it’s not meant to be, and that’s all right.”
Brenda’s opinion on a possible move to Pro Stock are mixed. “Yes and No. It’s a lot of money. If someone came up to Glyn and offered him a car that he just had to maintain and drive, he’d be in seventh heaven but to actually go out and build one, well, it’s kind of out of our league right now. If a sponsor wanted to back him, and that could happen, you never know. But I’ve always told him that he has a job to do before he can move up - he has to win the championship here first. I’m feeling very confident this year, he has come close so many times.”
Brenda then stated, “I don’t know who will be more disappointed when it’s over, him or me. A big thank you to everyone for everything for making this so enjoyable, right from the announcer to the children and fans, to the fellow racers, It’s been a “GREAT” ride. I love it !!!!”
