Terry Roma 1960 - 2012
Terry Roma lost his battle with cancer on April 15th.
Roma was a long time racer and a multi-time Champion at Scotia
Speedworld, in both the Street Stock and Sportsman divisions. He was the
only driver to win three Shriner’s Classics.
As successful as
he was on the track, he was much more off the track. He was a
competitive person who worked hard, but was willing to offer help and
advice to his fellow competitors. He was an optimistic guy who saw the
big picture and understood the viewpoint of others.
His driving
skills were evident to all while he worked the 38 car through traffic
towards the front. As proficient and determined as he was, he was just
as quick to help a competitor in the pits. Then run them tough during
the next race.
Terry was a fan favourite, whose personality
shone through during interviews at driver introductions or from victory
lane. He was upbeat and made you smile, because he was having fun and it
rubbed off on everyone. Terry was quick to thank the sponsors and was
appreciative of what they did for the racers.
We’ll all remember
Terry racing with his chemo treatment strapped to his arm, after
ensuring that our medical people knew what to do in the case of an
incident. He didn’t want anyone to treat him any differently because of
his health situation, on or off the track.
Terry was one of the “good guys” and will be missed!
Our condolences to the Roma family.

TO ALL OUR FANS AND VIEWERS:
AFTER 11 YEARS OF COVERING THE STOCK CAR SCENE IN THE MARITIMES, THE TIME HAS COME TO CLOSE THIS CHAPTER OF OUR LIVES. WE ARE SAD TO SEE IT END BUT THIS DECISION IS NECESSARY.
THE REASON FOR THIS IS TWO FOLD. DECLINING HEALTH BY BOTH BEA AND MYSELF IS THE MAIN REASON AS WELL AS THE SPIRALLING COSTS ASSOCIATED WITH THE TRAVEL.
HOWEVER, WE ARE NOT FINISHED WITH RACING. WE HAVE TAKEN A POSITION WITH CENTRE FOR SPEED AND WILL BE WORKING HARD TO PROMOTE RACING AT THIS FACILITY IN 2012.
WE WILL ALSO BE ATTENDING RACES AT OTHER TRACKS AS TIME AND FINANCES PERMIT.
WE WANT TO THANK EVERYONE FOR ALL THE SUPPORT AND COURTESY EXTENDED TO US OVER THE PAST 11 YEARS AND WE LOOK FORWARD TO SEEING YOU IN 2012.
THIS IS NOT GOODBYE, JUST SO LONG FOR NOW.
BRUCE AND BEA
